Napoleon Hill

What do you want to be like, who do you want to be, what do you want to do when you grow up?

Make A Vision

If you are 55 or 10 or any age you should answer the question, why? The answer can be your vision that you flesh out to use the law of attraction. It can be the vision you use to lead you to success.

Are there qualities of a particular person you’d like to incorporate? Read about that person and see yourself doing those kinds of things, responding successfully as that person might.

See And Feel The Vision And Take Action!

Play this vision and add words to it to form a plan. Napoleon Hill gives a formula in Think and Grow Rich. These words you should go over in the morning and before bed to burn them into your mind.

Then – begin to act – ideas will be coming to you about the actions to take and you need to take action.

The whole idea of a vision is to create a burning desire which will sharpen your observation and create the desire to spur you to action. Another part of your job is when dis empowering things come along that you manage them. Do whatever it is so you will act and keep acting.

Act NOW – Waiting Solves Nothing: Success And The Law Of Attraction

Remember, things won’t be perfect when you start and don’t think of waiting even an hour for things to be a little better. The great Zig Ziglar asks, “do you wait for all the traffic lights to turn green before you leave home for the store?” Of course you don’t – you’d never get there. It is the same with your dreams and goals.

Run the movie in your mind, replay and enhance the vision – ideas will come and when you see the ideas you will act on them. This is success and the law of attraction in action – make no mistake the law of attraction needs action to work.

So why grow up? Just keep asking yourself what you want, what and who you want to be when you do grow up. Asking those questions keeps your mind open to possibility.

Never Give Up

Did you know that Colonel Sanders was 65 and trying to figure out how to make it on Social Security when he started Kentucky Fried Chicken? He lived on for many years and saw it become a huge success and saw it make him a great deal of money before he died. KFC started on his idea that the fried chicken recipe he had developed in his roadside restaurant in Corbin Kentucky was worth something. Colonel Sanders created his own future with principals of success and the law of attraction.

A thousand people told him no as he traveled town-to-town, often sleeping in his car, trying to find someone to buy a franchise. A thousand said no before he got his first yes.

And so the vision – the idea – the action must be bolstered by cultivating your thoughts so that you too can take some rejection, some knocks, and discomfort as you work toward your success.

Napoleon Hill said it best – that everything you want to accomplish in life has it’s beginnings in an idea. It’s up to you to keep the idea alive and take action on it.

Growing up means figuring out what it is you want to be and do and it is a realization that it’s more than wishing, you have to do something. But the magic combination of these things will get you anything you want and that is how The Law of Attraction Works.

It seems that the big marketing successes of all times have been promoting opinion and outright falsehoods as truth.

Emerson is quoted as saying:

build a better mousetrap and they’ll beat a path to your door.

While Emerson has written and stated many great truths, this is not one of them. In fact if you build a better mouse trap, the PR machines will kick in from your competitors and work at shooting you down. The fact is if you want to promote something then you’d better have the biggest mouth.

A couple of examples, that you should eat margerine instead of butter, that high fructose corn syrup should be in everything. Both of these “truths” have their part in the current obesity epidemic in the US.

What other half-truths are out there that you may be using to make decisons with, or products that you may be using that perhaps another choice would be better (hint: perhaps you should avoid high fructose corn syrup)?

Hype is pervasive in our society today. Everyway we turn someone has a sign or a mesage aimed at our senses. Repitition of ideas makes us feel comfortable about them, after time we adopt them without giving any real consideration at all.

Always understand your reasons for doing things, is it something considered, or something that has been implanted by repetition of messages that have been presented to your senses?

The law of attraction tells us to focus and visualize – this causes idea creation and we take action — but what happens then? Here are some answers from Wikipedia:

In 1886, 28-year-old David H. McConnell, who sold books door-to-door, gave out perfume to entice women to buy his books. (The perfume became more popular than the books, so he started the company that became Avon)

The William Wrigley Jr. Company was founded on April 1, 1891 originally selling products such as soap and baking powder. In 1892, William Wrigley, Jr., the company’s founder, began offering chewing gum with each can of baking powder. The chewing gum eventually became more popular than the baking powder itself and Wrigley’s reoriented the company to produce the popular chewing gum.

Henry Ford starts the Cadillac Automobile Company by mistake: With the help of C. Harold Wills, Ford designed, built, and successfully raced a twenty six horsepower automobile in October 1901. With this success, Murphy and other stockholders in the Detroit Automobile Company formed the Henry Ford Company on November 30, 1901, with Ford as chief engineer.[10] However, Murphy brought in Henry M. Leland as a consultant. As a result, Ford left the company bearing his name in 1902. With Ford gone, Murphy renamed the company the Cadillac Automobile Company.

The bottom line here is things don’t always go the way you suppose. What’s the problem? Go with it… Dale Carnegie said, “when life hands you a lemon, make lemonade.” That’s what they did in these cases and you can do the same. Look at the results you are getting in whatever it is you are doing and figure out what it means.

For McConnell the books weren’t working but he purfume was; for Wrigley it was the gum; for Henry Ford’s partners in the first Ford Motor Company it was not Henry Ford – but they created the Cadillac Company – in the same enterprise things weren’t right for Ford and he moved on, started another company and yet another auto giant.

Although life will change things around on you – keep moving forward looking for the good.

If you are in business or otherwise have something to promote you need to listen to him. Here are some of the ideas from his presentation in the TED video:

People who can spread ideas win.

The old ways of interruption marketing is over. Consumers have more choices and less time so they just ignore stuff.

What determines what gets noticed is: is it remarkable? Is it worth talking about? Is it worth making a remark about?

Sell the people who are listening and maybe they’ll tell their friends.

Figure out what people want and give it to them.

The riskiest thing you can do now is to be safe. The safest place is to be on the fringes.

Seth Godin at TED Sliced Bread and Other Marketing Delights

Wikipedia offers this summary of Godin’s views:

First, the end of the “TV-Industrial complex” means that marketers no longer have the power to command the attention of anyone they choose, whenever they choose.

Second, in a marketplace in which consumers have more power, marketers must show more respect; this means no spam, no deceit and a bias for keeping promises.

Finally, Godin asserts that the only way to spread the word about an idea is for that idea to earn the buzz by being remarkable. Godin refers to those who spread these ideas as “Sneezers”, and to the ideas so spread as an “IdeaVirus.” He calls a remarkable product or service a purple cow. Yahoo! currently has a model of a purple cow in the lobby of its Sunnyvale campus.

Advertisements on television and radio are classified as ‘interruption marketing’, which interrupt the customer while he is doing something of his preference.

Godin introduced the concept of “permission marketing” where the business provides something of value to the customer and thus obtains his permission and then does marketing.

Seth Godin’s blog is a treasure. A recent post, Three Things You Need If You Want More Customers is typical of how he boils what seem to be complex marketing issues down to something so simple that it becomes obvious. What a great talent.
