Self esteem (do you value and love yourself?) is a component of success.  You don’t have to have self esteem to succeed but it helps you have faith in yourself and will help you keep moving forward when you have set a goal.  Self esteem controls to some extent how you feel and if you are using visualization, whether for it’s own sake, or for the law of attraction, self esteem will help you create richer visualizations, visualizations that you can believe because you believe you are worthy of them.

How you value others affects your self esteem.  You can’t just sit in front of a mirror like Stuart Smalley and say over and over, “I like me.”  That’s not it, rather it is more holistic, it involves an appreciation for others, for pets, for the things that you have in your life now as well as for yourself.  It’s been said that you need to love what you have in order to get what you love.  That’s a strange statement but it is true and goes to the judge that sits in everyone’s head.  More on the “judge” in a moment.

Always speak words that show that you care for yourself as well as others.  The words coming from your mouth have great power in your mind and in the minds of others.  The words are suggestions that plant themselves and are responsible for feelings and responses that you have no idea about.  Just a thought there and something can trigger it.  Sure you have a lot of control but sometimes these things come in under the radar.  Your self-esteem will help you deal with these thoughts and emotions so be sure to speak words that always builds it.

As to speaking to others, your own ears hear these words as well.  And while the speech may be directed towards someone else it goes into your mind as well.  There is a great scripture that I believe has everything to do with this: “Judge not lest ye be judged” (Mathew 7:1) .  Your own little judge is sitting in your head and if you apply harsh standards to those around you, your judge is listening and will apply the same standard to you.  This can kill your self esteem so listen to your words and the thoughts in your head and seek moderation, seek to find the good, learn to look for how to make things better and what is already good about them.

So give yourself and everyone a break and don’t be so judgemental.  Learn to build up with your words, learn to inspire, everyone deserves that and you deserve it too.

“The Science of Getting Rich” calls on you to form the vision of the things you want. It also has a call to action in the place and job you are in so that you more than fill your present place. You are not doing this to please your employer, although it may, you are doing it to advance yourself. You are doing it because your future is so compelling (because of your visioning) that you inject energy, purpose, and faith into the moment you are in. Those who work with you and those who come in contact with you will feel this radiance and sense of increase and will be attracted to you. Always remember: vision and action.

Visualize

It is necessary to visualize: according to “The Science of Getting Rich,” this holding of your vision in the “Thinking Substance” will cause your desires to form. Holding your vision should be a big part of your work in leisure hours, contemplating your vision and firmly fix it in memory. See the picture of your future in your mind’s eye: some find it helpful to make a vision board with pictures of the objects of their intentions and desires. While this can help but is not necessary do it if it serves you but don’t get hung up on it. The thing to realize is the visioning process doesn’t end with pictures, it encompasses all senses. If one of your goals is a new car, can you hear the sound of the door closing as you climb in? Notice the new car smell, can you see yourself in the car? Now hear the key slide into the ignition and hear the motor start, feel how it feels to accelerate, how it handles on the road. Wattles says in chapter 12:

In saying that you must hold your vision while you are doing each act, however trivial or commonplace, I do not mean to say that it is necessary at all times to see the vision distinctly to its smallest details. It should be the work of your leisure hours to use your imagination on the details of your vision, and to contemplate them until they are firmly fixed upon memory. If you wish speedy results, spend practically all your spare time in this practice.

Do this kind of visualization for all the parts of your new life, all the parts of your life of riches. The detail is necessary: nurture your vision that you become so enthused about its promise that the thought of it will “call forth the strongest energies of your whole being.” In your leisure create, form, and nurture the vision. In your working time you need only refer to these mental pictures to stimulate your faith, purpose, and actions. In your working time you cannot hold the detail or concentration as when you are at leisure but you can allow thoughts of the vision to bubble up to create a sense of advancement and power in you. This will create an enthusiasm in you that will be attractive to people you come in contact with.

“Hold the faith and purpose of increase,” don’t allow your thoughts to slide back on circumstance or on anything but your vision, your compelling future. If contrary thoughts creep in you must replace them with thoughts of your future. Some find it helpful to use words like: “cancel, cancel” as many times as necessary to cancel those thoughts. Then bring your focus back again with the vision that you have established. It is necessary to keep your mind in the NOW.

Action

The vision thus formed and nurtured, and your mind trained on the now, will drive your actions; it will stimulate you to your best. But this is only the beginning. Out of the “Thinking Substance” which “permeates” the universe, which makes up everything will come ideas and plans. These will bubble into your consciousness and lead you to specific actions that will move you to the fulfillment of your vision. Recall the quote we began with: “By thought, the thing you want is brought to you; by action you receive it.” These ideas and plans are the specific actions for you’re to receive the thing that is brought to you. Again from chapter 12 of “The Science of Getting Rich:”

Whatever your action is to be, it is evident that you must act NOW. You cannot act in the past, and it is essential to the clearness of your mental vision that you dismiss the past from your mind. You cannot act in the future, for the future is not here yet. And you cannot tell how you will want to act in any future contingency until that contingency has arrived. Because you are not in the right business, or the right environment now, do not think that you must postpone action until you get into the right business or environment. And do not spend time in the present taking thought as to the best course in possible future emergencies; have faith in your ability to meet any emergency when it arrives. If you act in the present with your mind on the future, your present action will be with a divided mind, and will not be effective. Put your whole mind into present action.

…

Do not give your creative impulse to Original Substance, and then sit down and wait for results; if you do, you will never get them. Act now. There is never any time but now, and there never will be any time but now. If you are ever to begin to make ready for the reception of what you want, you must begin now. And your action, whatever it is, must most likely be in your present business or employment, and must be upon the persons and things in your present environment.

Hold with faith and purpose the vision of yourself in the better environment, but act upon your present environment with all your heart, and with all your strength, and with all your mind.

As you begin to live life this way you will find new energy and joy as the visions, these expressions of your soul form first into your actions and then into physical reality.

“The Science of Getting Rich” is a call to action. Actions of the soul and so actions that are natural and a part of you. Work yes, but work that is of you, work that brings you to your dreams and not just work done for someone else; it is the kind of work that will bring you joy. In the words of the Psalmist:

Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it. Psalm 90: 16-17

These things that you want, the things that “The Science of Getting Rich” tells you to visualize about, these things may be things that you haven’t believed possible for you. When, after nurturing your vision you see yourself in those places with those things you want you will know they are right for you. The part you were missing is the action steps to receive them. And now that you know those things are right for you – you will also come to know that the plan will present itself. Sometimes it is a progressive realization of the goals and sometimes it comes as if by magic. Keep the vision, keep the faith. Make the decision that this future is right for you. Then the actions you take will be inspired, empowered, and the actions will be taken toward a hope and a future.

There’s your call to action, act and create the vision, act and nurture it, and act when the ideas come. In the words of Wayne Dyer, “you’ll see it when you believe it.”

Both “The Science of Getting Rich” and “Think and Grow Rich” have “faith” at their core. This is not to imply that either author, even though both were Christian, bases his work on The Holy Bible or any other religious book. It is rather that both view faith as a force that while a part of all religions is also independent of them.

If you consider Wallace Wattles assertion.

There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe.

A thought, in this substance, Produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.

I think you would have to agree that this is completely in agreement with the quoted scripture.

Napoleon Hill opens his chapter on Faith this way:

FAITH is the head chemist of the mind. When FAITH is blended with the vibration of thought, the subconscious mind instantly picks up the vibration, translates it into its spiritual equivalent, and transmits it to Infinite Intelligence, as in the case of prayer.

And so these two classic books agree with the Bible on this key point. Faith connects with a spiritual substance and is as the Bible says, “the substance of things hoped for.” Undoubtedly the sacred books of the other great faiths express similar views of faith.

We quoted Wayne Dyer yesterday: “you’ll see it when you believe it.” Can you believe that statement? “Faith is the evidence of things not seen” — “you’ll see it when you believe it.” And “faith is the substance of things hoped for.”

Faith is the real stuff – the real substance of things hoped for. It is the thought held in the “thinking substance” that makes up the universe, as Wattles puts it,” and it produces the thing that is “imaged.” “Imaged” – not seen but “imaged” — it is “the evidence of things hoped for” that keeps you holding that image in the thinking substance – without the strength of faith you would tire and give up.

We’ll wrap todays post by noting again what both authors point out repeatedly: have faith, jack it up as high as you can — but take action. I’m reminded again of the Bible (it is not my intention to introduce religion – it’s just that the Bible is another book I am familiar with) – the Bible says: “Faith without works is dead.” What could be simpler – get inspiration, have faith, and work to put it over. If you do this the universe, or God, or however you choose to view it, will conspire with you to bring it about.

Begin with the end in mind.

If you begin with the end in mind it means you must see the outcome, you must visualize it. Wattles says:

The thought of a house of a certain construction, if it were impressed upon Formless Substance, might not cause the instant formation, of the house; but it would cause the turning of creative energies already working in trade and commerce into such channels as to result in the speedy building of the house.

Visualization is in every chapter of The Science of Getting Rich. If you visualize across as many of your senses as you can and with emotion then you are doing it right. It maybe you have only a foggy picture when you begin and it might be a little difficult to keep forefront. This is a good beginning accept it, be patient and over a short time it will crystallize and be real for you.

This is a place where many fall by the wayside they give up their vision during this gestation time.

Wattles talks over and over about holding a thought in the formless substance – visualizing, and the substance produces the thing.

A thought, in this substance, Produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.

Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created.

Follow that with another of Wattle’s tenants and you are home:

By thought, the thing you want is brought to you; by action you receive it.

Thought and personal action combined will bring you the things you visualize. It is not important when you begin that you know what action to take, the visualization will get you wired into that part.

An element that is important to work into your visualizations at the beginning is the feeling of gratitude. There is an entire chapter in The Science of Getting Rich about gratitude. I’ll embed it here and you can listen to it when you are ready.

Gratitude is important in connecting you to the force of faith a main driving energy which will bring your vision into your life. Can you see the thing and be thankful for it? Can you be grateful regardless of appearances? Perhaps the poet says it best:

If you can dream, but not make dreams your master,
If you can think, but not make thoughts your aim
If you can meet with triumph and disaster,
And treat those two impostors just the same
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken,
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build them up with worn out tools.

If you can fill the unforgiving minute,
With sixty seconds worth of distance run,
Then yours is the world, and all that’s in it,
And, which is more, you’ll be a man my son.

Fill up the place you are in, keep the dream (your vision), but the dream is not your master you are the master of your dream, and the world will be yours.
