A few posts back, here at The Real Mike Griffin Blog we started talking about “Think and Grow Rich” in relation to “The Science of Getting Rich.” These books are connected at a very deep level - each reveals different facets of the law of attraction and other laws that control the human experience.
Chapter 3 of “Think and Grow Rich” is one of the more important chapters of the book and it has everything to do with “The Law of Attraction” which is the focus of today’s post. In chapter 3 – “Faith,” Hill discusses not only the idea of faith, but how you may develop it and how you may use it to connect with “infinite intelligence.” Hill’s formula, although derived differently, is consistent with scripture which says: “faith cometh by hearing…” (Romans 10:17). Hill discusses the use of affirmations linked with emotion as a way of reaching your subconscious mind and the infinite. Hill states:
Thoughts which are mixed with any of the feelings of emotions, constitute a “magnetic” force which attracts, from the vibrations of the ether, other similar, or related thoughts. A thought thus “magnetized” with emotion may be compared to a seed which, when planted in fertile soil, germinates, grows, and multiplies itself over and over again, until that which was originally one small seed, becomes countless millions of seeds of the SAME BRAND!
These two sentences, found in chapter 3 are profound: thoughts grow and multiply attracting others of the kind from “vibrations of the ether.” Which means that you get wired into the infinite intelligence, a link to God if you will. As the chapter unfolds Hill demonstrates how an ‘idea’ is the beginning of ‘Riches’ or of the thing that you seek to manifest: this is the law of attraction. Hill states:
RICHES begin in the form of THOUGHT! The amount is limited only by the person in whose mind the THOUGHT is put into motion. FAITH removes limitations!

The rest of chapter 3’s audio will be following in future posts as will some of the other chapters of the book. Currently there is no specific schedule for the chapters but the intent to include them in a new podcast from this site as the material seems appropriate. Please give us your feedback on this.
Part 1 of chapter 3 ends as Hill is about to present his “Self Confidence Formula.” This formula is actually a very clear statement of what we have come to know as “The Law of Attraction.” I’ll have the second part of chapter 3 for you tomorrow that includes the formula as we continue on the theme.
Napoleon Hill and Wallace Wattles express these ideas differently but with a careful reading you can see that the ideas in both books are consistent - Wattles says:
Original Substance moves according to its thoughts; every form and process you see in nature is the visible expression of a thought in Original Substance.
And as we go through chapter 3 of “Think and Grow Rich,” in fact through the entire book, you will see that this idea is woven through it in many different ways, into a beautiful pattern that elsewhere has been called “The Law of Attraction.”
