Creating A World Without Poverty

by Mike Griffin on June 28, 2009

It takes a great vision to see a world without poverty. Yet this is what Wallace Wattles was about in The Science of Getting Rich. Muhammad Yunus has a vision of bringing the world into a state of harmony and empowerment such that each of us has such freedom of mind and life that he/she can pull themselves into the much deserved good life. Muhammad Yunus envisions a world where poverty can only be seen as an artifact in a museum.

This is a great story about empowering people with banking. Empowering people to do business and create a life worth living.

Revolutionary economist Muhammad Yunus’s new book “Creating a World Without Poverty” outlines his vision for an original business model that combines the power of free markets with the quest for a more humane world — and tells the inspiring stories of companies that are doing this work today. Yunus is the founder of Grameen Bank, a pioneer of microcredit — an economic movement that has helped lift millions of families around the word out of poverty — and the author of Banker to the Poor: Micro-lending and the Battle Against World Poverty.

A world without poverty, an inspiring vision that we should all catch.
