You’ll find several of Emerson’s essays on this site. Quotes like that are the reason I love Emerson. Some find the language of 100+ years ago a little difficult to connect with today but you will also find very clear gems of wisdom like the quote contained in the essays.
Emerson also said:
“Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.”
When you form your vision according to the Law of attraction and you are nurturing it you know you will find those who want to knock it down. You will also find there is a lot about it that you didn’t know, different and perhaps more difficult than the impression you had when you started… Or seemingly so.
Check that first quote again “…the universe conspires to make it happen.” So if we believe Mr. Emerson, and I do, the difficulty that tempts you to believe the critics are right is at odds with what the universe is doing. What you are seeing, the temporary difficulties that you see are there but they are not real. What is real is what the universe is up to as it conspires to bring the object of your decision into reality.
There is a scripture: God calls things that be not as though they were. Elsewhere we are told to be imitators of God as dear children. So if God calls things into being and we are to imitate him, then that is a scriptural support of The Law of Attraction. It also supports Emerson’s statements.
Make a decision to do or have something and hold to it. Call it into being, “I am so happy with my new Cadillac Car (or whatever your object).” Can you see it in your mind? Can you feel the way it rides, the new car smell? Be grateful, very grateful, be happy, content, patient until it appears in your driveway.
Make the decision and the Universe Conspires to make it happen. What are you deciding right now? Anything you want. Call it present, see it… Now be patient until it either comes or a course of action presents itself to you.
The law of attraction is inborn to each of us but society conditions us not to use it. Thus many are put into boxes in which they live their entire lives. Conditioned to a confined space, conditioned to be their own jailer.
The law of attraction means freedom as it compells you to look out of your box and see the universe…
